Everyday, we receive a lot of information from different media. All information is supposed to be the truth, but we can find some information are fake. Food label is a kind of information which we read in our daily life. It shows food description, ingredient and expire date. People read food label because they do not want any harmful ingredient to affect their heath. They spend time to read and analyze which one is good for them. Many countries encourage their populace to read food label before they buy any food. However, we still find some food labels contains\ untrue information.
This project is a fake food and drink brand call “Fable”, because it is a short tale to teach a moral lesson and a story not founded on fact. The products of this project is the same as fable to aware people that some food labels are not real, and will affect our health. “Fable” has two series of products: Snow White apple product and Hansel and Gretel candy product. It is because the foods in these fairy tales are harmful. The packages contain illustrations that are scenes in the fairy tales. The dialogue on the package will question about the doubt of food which aims to awake consumer that some foods in supermarket are fake or harmful.
每天,我們都從不同的媒介中接收到不同的信息。接受信息時,我們都假設其內容是真實的;但事實上會發現某些訊息其實是捏造的。食品標籤是我們日常接觸到的信息之一,包括了食品的介紹、成份和有效日期。由於我們不希望食品會危害到健康,所以大家都會細心閱讀食品標籤,選擇合適自己的產品。多個國家都已鼓勵市民在購買食品之前先仔細閱讀食品標籤;但到了最後,仍然會發現食品標籤中含有不正確的資料。
這個作品中建立了一個虛構食品品牌“FABLE”。“FABLE”是道德教育和非現實的短篇寓言故事;“FABLE”的包裝設計,是希望提醒人們在食品標籤中仍包含著捏造的資料,隱藏了食品中有有害物質的事實。“FABLE”有兩個系列的產品:「白雪公主蘋果系列」和「糖果屋」系列。這兩個寓言故事中所描述的食物都是有害的。包裝設計中包含著寓言故事的情節,配合插畫中的對話文字,提醒大家在市場中仍有偽造和有害食品,要小心選擇。
